ABOUT ME

Lynette grew up on the periphery of Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Lewis and Julia Carnahan. Her dad preached in Gallatin and at the State Penitentiary. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman and Lipscomb universities. Miss Lora Laycock had Lynette illustrate Laycock’s Treasure Chest for Bible Teachers.  Lynette married Morgan Gray. She was a layout designer in Atlanta, an Art teacher, plus an artist for the University of Tennessee.

While she was a fulltime mom, Lynette fought cancer, fought herself, and fought to thrive after treatments. When she couldn’t find a Christian book with diverse information and uplifts, she wrote Letters of Hope: Surviving, Thriving, and Sharing Strength. Lynette began speaking at churches, hospitals, libraries, Ladies’ events, and writers’ groups.

In 2007, she published Feasting on Assurance. Stafford North, Aubrey Johnson, Philip Slate, Bruce McLarty, John Dale, and Dale Jenkins were contributing authors. Lynette is herself a contributing author for two Thomas Nelson gift books.

Find her articles in: Power for Today; Forthright Magazine; Christian Woman Magazine; and Heartlight. Today, her home’s windows showcase the Great Smoky Mountains. Both Lynette and Morgan teach Bible Classes at Westend Church of Christ.
